Coach Hicks' Bio

 

Coach Hicks is starting his 25th year in Athletic Training, 18th year in Frisco ISD, and 6th at Reedy High School. Coach Hicks was raised in Italy, Texas and graduated from Italy High School.  He received his Bachelors and Masters degrees from Tarleton State University. His career started at Brewer High School in Fort Worth, TX for one year before moving to Lewisville ISD and working at The Colony High School for 5 years. Coach Hicks came to Frisco ISD in 2003 and opened Centennial High School where he stayed for 12 years before opening Reedy High School. Coach Hicks has been happily married to his wonderful wife Kayla for the past 21 years and they have 2 sons Riley and Brady. Riley is a sophomore at the United States Merchant Marine Academy in Kings Point New York and Brady is a 8th grader at Pearson Middle School. 

 

 

    Coach Holtrop's Bio

CyAna Holtrop is going into her 8th year at Reedy High School. She graduated from The Colony High School in 2007 and continued her education at West Virginia University where she received a Bachelor of Science in Athletic Training and Sport Psychology. Coach Holtrop completed her dual Master’s Degree in Rehab & Exercise Science, Performance Enhancement and Injury Prevention from Cal in December 2021.

 

After graduation from West Virginia University, she moved back to North Dallas and obtained a Co-Head Athletic Trainer position at Denton Guyer High School. While there she reconnected with old mentors in Frisco ISD and moved into her role at Reedy High School.

Coach Holtrop is heavily involved in helping teach her students and athletes the importance of mental health as well as maintaining positive character-building skills revolving around Reedy High School and the Frisco community. In her limited free time, she enjoys yoga, spending time with her family, watching any and all football (go Mountaineers!) and learning to cook new meals.

Coach Holtrop and her husband Brent are welcoming a baby girl, Scottie Elizabeth in November. She is very excited to continue her journey at Reedy High School as a Lion and looks forward to meeting all of the new staff, students and parents!
